New Mustang...not all that

I've been checking out the new Mustang, and have come to the conclusion it's not all that. I grew up looking at the real 65-70 models, and to be honest, the 05 looks too much like them. I'm tired of looking at old body lines.
Now I'm sure it's a great car to own and drive. If I drove one, I'm sure I would want one, but it's too retro. Maybe it's just me, and many of you are to young to sympathize, but I'm not into it.

to me, its a love/hate relationship... i love the motor and idea, hate the look from the side and hate the aftermarket to truly mock up a 60's style.

I saw a Legend Lime GT convertible driving next to me on the freeway today, I have to say it was a very nice car. I like it, the look and everything. But then I'm younger, born in '77. I grew up with the early 80's Mustang. If they ever decide to do a retro look of that car, I'll probably feel the same way as you...

Personally I think it looks different enough from the original to stand apart on it's own. Who knows though... the car could end up being the next "New Beetle" - a hot seller at first, and then after initial interest dies down, a car the dealers can't give away. VW was at least smart enough to save the convertible model for when sales of the hardtop started to slow down.

well, I grew up climbing into 1969 mach 1's and boss 302's... I like the style of the new one very much. Of course I would still love to own the early mustangs... but the new one is gorgeous. As do most people think... they can't keep them on the dealer lots. Looks of a vehicle are a personal thing. Can't really argue about that. I mean.. some people like the look of the aztec right?.... oh... maybe not

Ford did the "retro thing" intentionally with the Mustang. Thats where the bulk of surveys stated that they wanted the Mustang to be. Ford finally listened to what "most" people wanted. Cant please everyone though. I can relate to your opinion though.

I like the new body, and if you have seen the GT-R it looks even better...compared to the mid 90's this mustang looks a lot more stable and more capable of doing the 100 mph racing...i like it a lot...the colors look great and the overall style is just right...then thats me...

My first car was a 65 mustang coupe with a 6 cyl. 3 spd. that I redone from a rusted
hulk. (Yes mine was not new i'm not that old sorry hotrod!!) I like the new stang because
you can have the old look (no chrome though) and new technology and in base form
is probably a whole lot faster than my 65.

I love it. The retro look is very sweet.
