Got my focus yesterday!!!

well, i said i would buy either a ZTS or a ZX3, and i decided to go with the ZTS. It's a 2000, leather seats w/manual transmission. damn, i like it. i hope she treats me nice! the only prob is that the cruise control doesnt work. anybody know anything about that particular part? i'm going to do a search, so please dont write saying "search, *******." anyways, just thought i'd let you know that i'm one of you guys now.

Congrats Brice!

As for the Cruise control, are you following the button-pushing order correctly? In case you weren't sure (and sorry if you do know!) you push On the Set Accel when you're at the speed you want, then let off the gas. Holding Coast until you drop to the desired speed works for slowing down and pushing Set Accel again will increase your speed by about 1 mph each time.

If you hit the gas after it's OK, and when you stop accelerating the car will take over once it's back to the speed it was set to, and tapping the Brake kills CC until you hit Resume where the car will get back up to speed. Off obviously shuts it off completely.

If that stuff doesn't work I'd check the fuse for CC, or maybe something's wrong with the wiring.

i tried it many times, so i think it's just plum broke. the light (under RPMs) comes on as soon as i push the SET/ACC button (after pushing the ON button) but the speed just drops without grabbing. I had the luxury of driving 4 hours last night (had to drive that far just to get it) and not once did it work. I have posted a little more detail in this thread: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...971#post528971

anyways, i might just buy a Chiltons and see if i can fix it myself.

did you check the cable where it connects to the throttle body? mine car did the same thing, the light would come on but no CC. the connector for the CC cable slipped off somehow.

yes, that cable thing! it is off, but the cable is stretched out so far that it doesnt grab even if i put the black plastic piece back on. i am going to post some pictures soon, when i take some, but i want to wait until i get my system hooked up. i think that's what i'm most proud of...not many americans fancy the MDs, but i love them. bought the deck used from Japan so i got a great deal for it. the Japanese have this store where they have everything auto and it's all used, so it's a fair price for hard to find JDM stuff, including hundreds of decks. only prob is that it wont pick up radio waves, but who needs fm anyways, right?
