Whoa someone's got money to burn!

Those "slate" solar panels look pretty normal and nice... I was thinking to myself how much the utility bill on that house is gonna be through the roof when everything's up and running!

I'm also impressed by the fact that his garage/driveway has a nicer patio than my backyard... yeesh.

That's so over the top it's actually kind of disgusting to me - I mean come on, do you really NEED a dynamometer built into your flippin' garage? I would have been happy with the first garage (the ordinary "average" 3-car garage). I see towards the bottom of the page that people have stolen my idea, too - I've always liked the idea of building the garage underground to avoid having a giant garage competing with the house for land.

My dad was just showing me today a catalog that came in the mail, which featured a house from the exclusive Danville, CA community of Blackhawk. 16,000 square feet of home for a family of four people - they bought the house relatively new (and houses in Blackhawk sell for many millions) and decided they didn't like the decorating style and spent a few more million to completely remodel the entire house, inside and out, and grounds. Their *pool* was bigger than the house we live in. Some people really do have more money than they know what to do with...

Think about it though, it would NEVER pay itself off - consider the average cost of a visit to a shop to use their dyno versus the cost of buying yourself a dyno (the style of dyno featured in that garage is a Dynapack that retails for about $105,000 - that would buy you *a lot* of dyno pulls at your local shop). The cost of a dyno is what is putting some smog shops out of business here where I live, they can't afford to make that purchase to meet the new smog regulations (have to have a rolling dyno to perform the new smog test). And this person bought a dynamometer for their own personal use... just kinda disgusting to me.

i don't think he has to worry about it being worth it. it probably saves him time and lets him tune his own cars. he could have saved money by going to a dyno shop, but he also could have saved money by buying a focus instead of a ferrari.
