What is right and/or wrong with this engine design?
These are older video's that I still find interesting. But I'm not sure on how to work the math for the design.
On a typical piston engine it's basically a Lever Principal. Longer the lever (connecting rod) to higher the Torque.
But what happens when the lever is replaced with a gear?
My initial thought is that torque will be reduced to the level of combustion force. Or if I'm going off the first video, as the piston moves down the bore torque is reduced exponentially instead of rising vs the crankshaft degree as a traditional setup.
The video's of his are crude and I'd love to prove to myself that the design doesn't work. Just need some direction with the math.
