If it was me they could knock a few grand off the price or fix it ...

Thank you all so much for the responses. I should have clarified when I first posted that they did say that it "should" polish out and that they would do that before I took delivery. My main concern is whether they could actually fix it or if it would be sort of "glossed" over so to speak. In other words if it would be possible to conceal it with some spray on wax only to reappear somewhere down the road. Thanks again to all of you you, you've helped put my mind at ease a little bit.

I used to do dealer prep at a Ford dealer and stuff like that is quite a bit more common than you'd think. I guarantee it'll be fixed before you see it again, and if not, pointing it out to your salesman will have it gone in five minutes, with a little polish and a rag. Nothing to worry about.

Amen. That's my job right now. If its something on the paint, they'll have a chemical that will take it off and if it is a scratch they will be able to buff it out or send it to the body shop for a more professional job.

Also, I'm pretty sure that is adhesive from the body wrap that the car would've been shipped in.

At the dealer I detail at, I see this a lot and we cant give it to the customer until it is fixed. All dealerships are different but they should have to fix it before you so much as move the car. I wish you luck and would advise that you accept nothing less than perfect when getting a new car.

This, exactly. I had a handful of cars this week with the same issue. Polishing took care of it and it was part of the prep for delivery.

I fix stuff like this for dealerships for a living.. if it will wipe off with a little thinner then ur fine.. if it needs painted it's a judgement call. Some dealers will have hack lot guy fix it and it will peel off in time. If it was me and it was a job that needed painted you wouldn't be able to tell I painted it and it would last the life of the vehicle. From the picture it looks like it should come right off though.

Looks like marks from the hose on a mobile pressure wash unit... some dealerships have guys pull a pickup truck mounted unit thru a lot & spray cars off... should come off with polish at detail.

Thank you again guys. I feel much better now. Now i'm really torn about the seats lol. I keep hearing people complain that the st2/st3 seats are too confining. My wife will be driving this car as well and I don't want her to hate driving it haha.
