Kia doesnt have a sport compact LOL

The SVT focus was a "sport compact" the kias dont even offer optional higher output engines, whats sporty about the same engine you get in a base model? And why doesnt anyone ever sing the forte or elantra's praise when it comes to handling? Because they don't handle like the focus or MZ3

Kia=good at making cars for every one, like a korean honda. Nice but nothing stunning

I see the overall scheme mimicing the focus but the elantra looks like it copied the focus design more.

Kia and Hyundai are essentially the same company since they do share the same parts bin for just about every car they make. And yes, Ford did have KIA make the Festiva back in the late 80's, early 90's. But that car was sold as a Ford, a KIA and a Mazda as well depending upon the market.

Ouch! Please don't stereotype everyone from the south because of one near-world comment. KIA's and Hyundai's are built down here and they're all over the roads.

After seeing this review, and all that comes with it. It takes a crap on a Focus Titanium for roughly the same price.

I'm sorry, how does a car built with 92% Korean sourced parts, built in Korea, engine and transmission from Korea effect the US better than buying a car with parts from all over the Americas, and abroad, with final assembly in Michigan? Please. I'd love to hear this.

4% american, 89% foreign/Korean, assembled in Korea

1% US???

Seriously. At least Toyota and Nissan are trying harder to bring a percentage of production stateside than this. KIA has ONE plant in Georgia.

You guys harp on me being a redneck, or old-fashioned, or whatever.... Keep becoming the consumerist America everyone wants us to be. I promise you it is not a good sign for the future. Manufacturing and Production infrastructure is absolutely key to long term economic health.

LOL

Nice comparison of a higher-end Kia to a base model Ford for the sake of comparing looks. Perhaps a Ti would have been better to compare. I don't care, I just though your choices were funny.

I think the pics were just for basic design comparison and not trying to make the Focus look bad.

The review admits that the Forte does not hit the sweet spot of fun, comfort or refinement of the Focus (see video starting at 2:19).
