zetec vs svt zetec

Hi

I'm not sure if I should post this hear or in the technical section, so I'll just post it here. I own a zx2 s/r, not a focus but it has the same engine. I'm going to be building a custom supercharger for my car most likely using an eaton m62-m90 with water-air intercooler. My question is why does the normal ztec with a vortech supercharger put out 195horsepower and 170 pound a torque with 8 psi. When compared with the svt with the same charger they put out 276 horsepower and 204 torque with 9-10 psi. Why is their such a difference, their is almost a 100 horspower difference. The svt does have a compression of 10:1 compared to a 9.5:1 and its running 2 lbs more of boost (so 20 horsepower just on boost or so). So my question is whats so special in the svt heads besides the flow? Also does the svt have built up internals:forged rods, pisteons, crankshaft, more aggressive cams, better bearings ect? If its the same then I will probably be running 10 psi in my ztec. What do you guys use for tuning: ford Chip,Sct chip, msd dis 2? Sorry about all the questions, just trying to find some good info.

Thanks
Jeff

The Zetec JRSC kit uses a M45 blower, while the SVT uses a larger turbine, an M60 I believe.

Yes, stronger rods, more aggressive cams, stiffer valve springs, and I think sodium filled valves. Might be some other bits. Oil/water cooler (an inexpensive add on well worth the cost for your build-up!).

But if you're doing a build-up, you would (or should) consider these items and more as well, I think.

the SVT bottom end is built much better...heads flow better aswell.
Dont look at PSI when you build a blower, look at overall CFM. 8psi from a v2 on an SVT isnt gonna be 8psi from a v2 on a regular Zetec, they dont breathe aswell so the pressure will be much higher. You want to know what is going to FLOW the most air for optimum performance..

As far as software, SCT imo.
