Our DCT, after two firmware updates and 8k miles, works well enough--different, but not bad. The car also has a lot of squeaks and buzzes and rattles from interior trim. But mostly I just hate getting in it and virtually every time MFT does something unexpected, goofy, or just annoying. Like telling me to Connect a Phone when I leave my wife somewhere and drive away from her phone. ("You connect a phone, you P-O-S. It's right here in my pocket. Why on earth do you need my help? Just try it...")

The FoFo alternate problem is the same as it was when we got the FoFo. The 5 dr hatchback is a great packages for my wife and fits our usage very well. The last gen Audi A3 hatch is gone and the replacement A3 is not a hatch in US market. If new Mazda3 is not as cheaply built as last one, it might be a candidate. Golf might be OK but smaller than FoFo. After the MFT debacle and generally lower than expected quality in the FoFo (too many firmware updates, too many body integrity issues, had to replace a steering rack...), another Ford is probably not happening for us. Sorry to say. I had high hopes for the FoFo.

Other issue is my expectation that trade value for our loaded '12 FoFo Ti will be terrible.
I look at it this way ford never recalled of fixed the valve seat problem in the spi. It happend to every spi regardless. So I don't see this getting fixed either.

Mercedes CLA, A3 or the 320i. Not a super significant difference in price and hell if I am going to have an unreliable car it might as well be one thats known for it but in all honesty I just like the way all three look.

Waiting to see the next gen Mustang...

What I'm expecting: Smaller, more "euro", independent rear suspension, 300+ HP 2.3L turbo motor.

What's not to like? (unless you need 4 doors)

If ford was smart and I think they have a little sense. They won't girly the mustang. The competion is too stiff for them to be dropping in a 4 cylinder regardless of the power. I don't see them doing any thing less than a V6. As for the the IFS although know to bave better control and ride over a live rear I still see for sticking with a live rear. They have gotten so good at taming it they are already out performing the camaro for example. A live axle is stronger too.

Fusion Titanium Hybrid. That was the only other car I was considering, after moving from a 3000GT VR-4.

There should be a Fusion ST, with a hatchback, I'd buy that

The hatchback version of the Fusion/ Mondeo is not coming to the U.S., and what engine would a supposed Fusion ST have that the SE or Titanium already doesn't have (i.e. the 2.0 L EcoBoost i4)? Unless they put the 6 speed manual and or the 2.3 L GTDI engine for the new mustang and or the V6 from the MKZ (at which point why buy the MKZ as it's exclusive engine would be gone).
