What is this focus???
I am looking at buying this ZX5 for my wife but am not sure what it is?

The owner says it is an SVT, but it doesnt have side skirts, no SVT bumpers, It does have the SVT engine, 6spd trans, SVT wheels, rear disks, painted mirrors, side moldings and hatch trim. It has the black interior, with velour seats, rather than SVT seats, the door panels do not have an insert. It has SVT instrument clusters, even has the SVT threshold stainless trim.
The dash trim is silver rather than black like an SVT. The back bumper is really thin, and factory looking, but it looks almost like a roll pan. The hood and front bumper are fiberglass(aftermarket).

The VIN is 3FAHP37543R192289

I dont have any interior pics

the 8th digit in your VIN is a 5......means it's an SVT shell. someone may have swapped out the seats....a 3 where the 5 is means a standard zetec.....

the rear bumper is a 98-01 european spec bumper that's been imported. it's worth more than the SVT bumper that was originally on there.

zx5 SVT's didnt get sideskirts from the factory.

the hood is a rare version of the "cobra" hood and fits pretty awesome. that front bumper doesn't APPEAR appears to be the 1998 focus RS/Collections front bumper from europe (also probably imported much like the rear was) of the most sought-after front end treatments that was available

as for dash trim, I've seen a lot of people paint them to match body color or swap them out for other stock pieces from the ZTS (had a brushed aluminum version, and woodgrain version)

looks to have some nice parts on it.... just needs a little TLC it seems

I do like that hood....................

That is a SVT with highly desireable European parts, even has Euro taillights. Maybe he sold some interior pieces to help fund the exterior pieces, which are not cheap (bumpers and taillights). Good find if the miles and price are right.

108k miles. What is it worth like it is?

The front bumper is definatly fiberglass. The bumpers and hood need paint, otherwise the body and paint is really nice. It needs better seats, as the velour ones dont look good to me. I may know where there is a set of black leather ones though. The door cards have black vinyl inserts. The dash pieces have been painted silver like hurtinfocus suggested. The radio has been swapped out, It has an aftermaket CD player, with an amp and a sub in the hatch. I wish it had the factory seats, radio and sub. The tires are good, but not new. I think it has been dropped an inch or so.
It also has a FART-CAN on it, so I may swap that out. Anyone got a suggestion for a good sounding exhaust for cheap?

Look for all the parts you want in the buy sell trade section. Also scour the cars that are being parted out in there as well. The stance looks to be normal for a SVT though, doesnt look lowered. If you dont like the bumpers, I am sure some locals would trade their svt bumpers plus cash for the ones on it now.

It could be an hks exhaust or the knock off which they are both pretty good exhausts

Am I just getting old? That hood is hideous.

You must be old, that hood is highly sought after. Looks better a solid color though. LOL (I am old to, just giving you a hard time) I would never own it though.

I hate the hood. But I know they are popular. I think Tom had one on his car. i like the bumpers and taillights. I will polish the headlights, paint the bumpers, hood and hatch. I will also install a nicer set of seats. What is the car worth needing nothing?
