Another Introduction Thread...

Hey everyone. I have a 2000 Focus Sony Limited Edition. I just got the car from a tow yard last week for $1200. A guy in the military bought the car used in 2002 and wrecked it 2 days after. he never called insurance on it & he went off to sea for 7 months. when he got back the car was towed and he tried to call the insurance company on it was denied. well. this focus sat in the tow yard for the past 2 years because they had to wait for it to be devalued. and well. it jsut got to that point and i got it. After doing research on this i found out that only 7000 of this model were made. Fortunatly this is the Going Platinum color available only for this limited edition focus. the only thing it doesnt have is the keys, faceplate for the sony deck and the sub box that was made for them. i already have the faceplate ordered and it should be in the next week. I have copies of the keys made and they are going to be coded to the computer so the car will turn on. the focus has 56000 miles. i might have a line on the subwoofer box & amp that has already been fixed under recall. Ive heard that there has been a recall with te fuel pump and hopefully i can get that fixed if its acting up.

ok. enough talk. here are some pics.

Yea, i know, its pretty dirty looking but ittl get cleaned up here shortly. and as for the reciever, it was taken out so the faceplate could be ordered. if yall want me to, i can get a pic of the stuff together once the faceplate comes in.

comments and criticism is all welcomed.

oh, and i was also curious as to what all was different between the limited edition focuses and the other models.

Welcome aboard...$1200 is a sweet deal. I'm going to take a stab and guess that you can have all that fixed at a bodyshop for less than $1500. Since you have a Zetec motor the mods are pretty much endless. Just do a quick search and you will see.

ok awesome. actually me & my dad are doing the body work for practically free. what happened was the car was hit right at the front driver wheel. it caved in the strut and bent some of the frame. it will be an easy fix.

Great buy.
Make sure you get all of the recalls, 2000 had several.
Check the breaks and possibly upgrade now.
I think you will love it.

Haha, I was going to say, it seems to be missing a little more than just keys, a faceplate and the sub box. But still a good deal. Hopefully sitting for two years didn't do any damage to stuff like rubber seals, or the engine's lubrication system.

Welcome to the forums!

No kidding! That's the exact car that I learned how to drive a stick with, way back in like 1995 I think. FUN car, very fun. Not blazing in straight line speed but seriously fun to whip around on a twisty road.

I liked the lightweight feel of it, very "tossable" and even though the engine in the one I drove had like 200,000 miles on it, it would pull strong and hard.

yea, i love the low end torque of them, and once i replaced the clutch in it i could spin tires through 1st and 2nd gears. it was an extremely fun car. and exen though it has alot of body roll, you could do alot of stuff to them. theyre actually starting to make a comeback to all those ricer kids. pop a b16 or b18 motor in there & you will kill alot of cars on the road. they do good at auto-x too.

I wish I could have had a car like that to learn how to drive stick. I was stuck with a 78 f-150 with a three on the tree and broken motor mounts.
