Does Ford in the US make these?

I found this piece that looks like it would actually help direct more air into the air box on the SVT.

No? I don't think Ford sells them, but I know I've seen them for sale before. Have you looked at european-parts.net? That may have been where I saw them.

The only downside I see to that is there may be more of a chance for debris to enter your intake - of course you still have your filter in the airbox but you might have to check it more often to make sure things like leaves weren't clogging it.

Cool part but it won't be worth the cost with the gains you will get, if any at all. It looks cool though. You won't 'feel' any gains with something like that. Air is being sucked in quickly regardless of having that piece or not. Airflow I would bet is the same either way.

Hey, I've had that part on my car for over a year.

I got it from Sascha @ European Parts (the site is posted)

BTW, it is a Ford part in Europe.

Does it help? Well, without a dyno test, I'm not going to say difinitively, one way or the other. However, my guess, (and I stress GUESS) is that it won't help as a air ram, though it will tend to push the air towards the air box more so than the stock set up, but it might help with the cool air intake system. Think about it. The stock snorkel sucks air from the engine bay. With the CAI radiator cover, air is coming in from outside. I think most of us have noticed the difference in our engines from a cool damp day versus a hot summer day. So, I think it probably does help. ( Besides, it fit my Euro grille better than the US one.)

PS, I hope this doesn't turn into a long drawn out technical argument, where no one has an data to back up their position. But, on second thought, let the guessing begin.

Jake do you have any problem with it sucking up more stuff due to it's location? Just wondering because the stock piece has that little deflector hump in the path of the snorkel.
