If done professionally, it looks great. Like this:

Matte black isn't very appealing in general to me, though.

Examples:
this looks good? For a second I thought I was in the autofail thread....

guess beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

I personally don't like it at all. to me matte finish on a car says "i don't like the color of my car, but i am two cheap/broke to actually do anything about it."

but to each his own.

What's all this talk of wraps being expensive? They're a lot cheaper than a new paintjob..

The construction company I work for does it to all the trucks and you can get some cool stuff done with them even pictures and it is half the price of a good paint job and it helps protect the paint so when you sell the vehicle it looks brand new.

Think of it as a fancy primer finish instead of a paint job..

We just unwrapped our 2006 Scion at work. It had been wrapped for the last six years. The paint looked brand new. I highly suggest not letting it sit outside in the sun every day of the year though. Even the 3M stuff WILL fade and crack. The roof and hood was chipping pretty bad. I couldn't believe how good it looked though once the wrap came off. I'll bet it added 500 bucks or more to the resale value.
