Why not a pick-up Greg? You can use it to haul mod parts for your Focus.

The Mazda 2.5 Liter in the first car is the same as the Probe, MX6, and 626. They are junk engines and I would stay away from it. My old Probe only had 90k miles and everything on it failed.

Here is my list of replacements before I traded her in for the Focus and the parts were not cheap.
1- Waterpump
2- Alternator
3- Head Gasket
4- Transmission
5- Timing belt
6- Rear brake calipers
7- A/C Compressor

i was thinking about a pick-up, but i dunno, the only ones i would drive is a Ford just about, and i couldnt afford the ones i want, that and trucks arent the best on gas mileage

The Millenia is a big car...I don't think you will be getting good gas mileage either. I don't know how you feel about Honda...but how about a '98-'00 4cyl. Accord EX or VW Passat?

Check out this funny ebay ad http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6237

Taurus may not be a bad idea for what your needs are. And since they made seventy billion of them they can be had damn cheap.

My stepdad got a 98 for 4k I think, the damn thing consistently gets almost 40 mpg, usually highway driving, but that was this summer with the AC and it's an auto too... so they aren't real gas-guzzlers.

Tauras, Tempo, Contour? That's the first things off the top of my head.

If you want a pickup get a Ranger.

I have owned a couple of Taurus' for family car. Cheap to buy, parts easily available, reasonable reliability, handle ok. Duratec version is much better.

my dad had one (got it as a company car) and it was pretty reliable. he got it up to 75 k and traded it in (required amount of miles to get a new car) and no problems. still, i'd say go with the ranger, you might be able to find a decent one with a decent price on eBay if you look aroudn enough.
