Fogging

when it's cold and raining (which is an everyday thing over here) my windows start to fog quiet a lot, especially the rear windows even with the ventilation system on; are my windows badly sealed? if so, does the warranty cover this problem?

If your windows are dirty, it will fog up pretty quick and sometimes will take a while to clear up if they're really dirty.

Your rear defogger should clear up the rear window pretty quick.

Also, does the windows ever clear up when you use the defroster on the front windshield ?

You might also try buying some window cleaner then applying some anti-fog stuff on your windows. Just make sure to clean your windows first before you apply the anti-fog stuff or it might not work as well if you have dirty windows.

I heard the same thing about dirty window, i would give that a shot, do you know if the defogger is even working?? Mine wasn't and the dealer fixed it, no problem. Look into it.

my windows are very clean (on the inside and outside), the defogger helps clearing the rear window only, which helps, but what about the rear ones (I've got a ZX5)?
when i use the defroster on the windshield, it clears the front windows and the windshield, but i can still see a thin layer of fog (but not as bad as the rear windows).
either i have some massive air coming threw the windows or my defroster isn't working properly, which i doubt since i can feel the air.
i've never heard of the anti-fog stuff, i guess it's applied on the inside, but my windows are tinted, does it hurt the tint?

So, you can feel air coming out the defrost vents, that's fine. But - are you sure the air conditioner is working? On the fOCUS (as with most all cars these days) the A/C comes on automatically when you choose defrost. It dehumidifies the air and makes a BIG difference in defrost performance, which is why Ford rigs it to happen automatically.

Another thought - if you happen to have the air controls in recirc mode, you can kiss most of the defrost action goodbye.

Get some anti-fog cleaner. RainX makes some I believe. It works, just clean the window and then apply the anti-fog stuff and you will be good to go.

That's if he has an AC.

Here's an Anti-Fog solution I've used and works very well. there's others as well but I've not tried them.
Stay away from those that come prepared with their own cloth/wipes. They suck and don't work well..

the A/C works like a charm; thanks for the link. But will these products harm the tint? the guy who did my tint told me not to use any product to clean my windows (I have to use either water or another product that doesn't contain certain chemicals)

thanks again

Do not use soap on your tints, it will turn it ugly green.
