Auto vs Stick - Life

I have read a lot of posts regarding the clutch on the Focus being crap. I've read that they blow as early as 10k to 30K miles.

No one has ever mentioned the Automatic - and how they last.

Has anyone had to replace their Automatic tranny - how many miles?

I have 60+k on my autotragic that I flog daily. I have way more than the standard HP running through my tranny and she has yet to slip. I autostick it, flick the OD button on and off like the fire button on Halo2, and rev up to 7200 before I hit the rev limiter and shift. I think my tranny was made the day after the guy had a threesome and he was really happy.

Clutches are reliable, mine is fine.
People who complain about clutch life typically drag or don't know to take their foot off the pedal or keep the car in gear when stopped. They will destroy any clutch. There is no reason why a clutch shouldn't last 100K miles.

As long as you're not using FI, the auto should last a very long time.

Yeah, I just turbo'd my sedan and I'm waiting for the telltale rev and no-go. Performance Automatics and Lentech are good choices if you want to stay autimatic with FI.
