Cnet's review of the Dodge Dart

Interesting review. They are not fans of their Dual Clutch Automated Manual Transmission (DCT).

I tell ya what I'm not liking is that 'entertainment system' they've got. For that 'upgrade' package you're getting with the BT, the Navigation system and all their bells and whistles, it was about 1,000.00 extra. The heck with that. I'd rather take my 1,000 and get an aftermarket stereo that's got just as many bells, whistles (literally) and features for less money.

So between the lack of responsiveness they referenced and the 'radio,' even if I was in the market to buy a new car, that one would not be it.

I saw a side by side pic of the focus interior next to the dart interior, and I was amazed at the difference. Dodge interiors STILL look like they were designed and built in the 90's. The dart just seems a lot more basic for something that is in the same price range.

I don't wholly agree with that, I haven't been inside an avenger or journey but my friends 2012 Charger, sxt trim I believe, has a nicer interior than my other buddies 2011 C class (base I think). That's my honest to god opinion, lots of soft touch, organized center console with useful storage spaces and really comfortable seats...beats my focus for sure. Haven't been in a dart, but that charger I can tell you is real nice

Having been in a Dart numerous times now I can certainly say it's not a bad car by any means. My only complaint was it felt a little sluggish in the low end, but with an R/T on the horizon and maybe an SRT-4 that'll get sorted out quickly.

The interior isn't that bad and I'd say it's pretty similar to the Focus in terms of quality, so rather average. It feels like something that would rattle horribly in about a year, much like the Focus (and mine rattles more than any car I've ever owned). I think American automakers are just going to be plagued with some rather "meh" interior for a long time.

I wouldn't say it's better than the Focus, but it does make a good alternative for someone. I will say it drives slightly better than the Focus does, the chassis is really good on it (probably since it's based on a car that's had it's chassis praised). It reminds me of a Neon, but modernized, which isn't a bad thing since I love me some Neons. But overall I think the Focus is a slightly better car.

I test drove a Dart Rallye with the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine and the 6-spd manual and I found it to be quite decent. Could use a little more low end torque but not bad. The interior was impressive, with a lot of soft touch fabrics and the car was very quiet when driving(a lot of thought went into noise insulation). I would put it on the shopping list along with the Focus.
