You should consult you're insurance company my freind. We aren't them.

I can tell you this, full coverage at our age (16,17) sucks indeed, but focus has been reliable for me, so its reliability is key. You should buy a car thats decent now so it will last you quite a bit rather then going cheap POS that will break down in a year and half be a money pit.

Choices my freind, choices. You're still a minor, so consider gas too. Focus good fuel economy. Its a big deal when you're drive is 93.3 Miles on an average day like myself to work school and the gym. Gas is about I dunno $1.95-$2.05 a gallon where I live.

2002+, the Focus really improved in quality. I had a 2001, and it was flawless.

you should have little to no issues with a 2002 zx3. Great reliable, economical cars. Insurance should be great, too....not like it's an SVT or anything. Only thing you could do to get a lower insurance rate is go for the sedan.

2001 foci had a lot of recalls and issues with fuel pumps and EGR stuff, as well as ignition issues that aren't toooo frequent. 2002, for the most part, shouldnt give you any mroe problems than the usual hiccups that any car will throw your way once in awhile. Transmission and engine are both sound.

Hope that helps

If you do decide to get a Focus, I'm sure that the people here will be glad to help you out if you have any questions. It's a pretty nice community. :-) There is so much information here about anything you can think of (probably) doing to a Focus, or things that have gone wrong, stories that are shared, etc... Good Luck

Cheers!

Do they have elantra clubs and web sites? (Not sure if your into that)
This site alone would be a selling point. The easiest way to get in touch with someone who has had your problem, is to come here like you did. GO FOCUS, you won't be disappointed.

Collision, did you cause an accident?

Don't feel bad most young drivers have an accident.

I know I did.
