Thinking about getting back in a Focus.

Well, not sure if any of you remember me, but I've been gone a little over a year now. Last summer I had bought a GSXR as my new toy and stopped modding the Focus. With that, my time here began to dwindle. Back in October I sold the Focus to my dad and bought an 04 Mazda6 S.

At this point I have no problems with my 6 other than the way it shifts...by itself. I'm really missing the manual. I told my bike this spring and I'm getting married in January. At this point the money I got from the bike is just sitting in the bank because from what I've heard, marriage isn't cheap. But I really want a weekend warrior, a non-DD, something with a stick, and right now an SVT kinda sounds like what I want. I played around with the idea of a Miata for a while, but couldn't find any in my area. Then I thought about and older C4 Vette, but the more I thought about it I realized I'd only want a Vette if it had a LS engine under the hood.

Here I find myself back at FF because I just miss my Focus. If I go with an SVT, I'll have one back plus it would be a hell of a lot nicer than my old ZX5. I guess I could say I'm not in the market. Like I said earlier though, don't wanna blow too much cash on one if I get one. Something around $3k-3.5k would be what I'd want. Not sure if I'll get one with issues or not. Nothing too major at least.

I guess I'm just welcoming myself back right now. Maybe I'll have another Focus soon, if not I'll enjoy contributing here as this is hands down the best automotive board on the net.

You'll never get an SVT that you would actually want to buy for $3.5k.. maybe $4.5k-$5k but even that'd be hard to find one with less than 100k and in decent shape.

I say go with a Miata. Keep looking until you find one. They're fun little cars..and RWD is awesome.

I agree with waiting til after the wedding. Then you will have more flexibility on what you want to get without worrying about the huge expense coming up.

Yeah Kevin, why not wait until after the wedding and everything is done. So that way you can see what your finances are going to be and you can make a better judgement as to what you can get. It would be great to bring you back into the Focus world, but it's best that you wait and see.
