foci body on rwd frame ?

What would it take to put a foci body on a rwd fram ? i know the wb lenght andwidth of the bmw325i 1981-85 is almost the same as the focus 2000-2003 and the ford mavericks eb is the same the lenght and width are not . just wondering.

It can be done, but it won't be necessarily easy. Friend here in town built the now famous Civette...civic hatch body on a corvette chassis.

The Focus is a unibody design. The support structure consists of multiple layers of pressed/formed steel welded together; the 'frames' usually consist of front and rear cages that bolt to points on the unibody and the suspension bolts to it. I'm positive the amount of custom fabrication needed for that idea wouldn't be worth it in the end. Unibody cars also need the doors to remain rigid enough to use and safe for collisions... the whole thing is designed to support the rest of it.

I'm also not positive of the BMW's design... is that a body-on-frame, or another unibody?!
