Is it worth it?

I was thinking about buying another ZX3 and doing a V8 engine swap. Is it worth it?

No. Not IMO. You had better have some serious money to do it unless you have the technical know how to do it yourself.

I found the kit from http://www.fordracingparts.com/download/catalogs.asp look at the Fast Focus catalog on page 35.
The kit is from http://www.kugelkomponents.com/focus/focus.html
The kit cost $5,500. You need to buy the engine, tranny, and I believe the exhaust. It is a bolt-on type kit.

Bolt on does not always mean that it will just bolt in without any issues. I am in no way doubting your skills but have seen a lot of people start off on a bolt in project like this and end up shelling out thousands in labor because of getting stuck or f-ing things up. It would be nice to have a V8 Focus, but IMO, not worth it. Those kits are pretty comprehensive though!

Good point. I might buy the new Mustang GT, but I am going to wait about 1-3 years for Ford to get rid of the problems if any in the GTs.

I saw a 2002 Ford Focus selling for 5k (4999) dollars the other day. The outside was in mint condition too but prolly had some high miles...I hope that is not the resale value on a normal mileage one...
