Question I'm a new Focus owner...

I have just purchased a Black 2001 SE w/a 16V 2.0L Zetec engine and an automatic transmission (had to get something w/auto so my wife could drive it as well...that was the deal - haha:). Anywho, I was wondering if there were any mods that I could do to increase the HP. I've seen these chips on Ebay that retail for around $5 that claim to up your HP +20. Does anyone know if these work? Also I've seriously been thinking about painting the dash components as illustrated on this website. Has anyone else done this and what am I getting myself into if I take this on? Is there one brand of paint in particular that is perferred over the rest? What is the average cost of this project. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Patrick

Stay away from those chips. They do nothing. Check out the FAQ and stickies at the tops of these forums for ideas and good places to buy from.

BTW, Welcome aboard.

Welcome to FF.
Like Jason said, do not purchase these chips from Ebay.

If you are in the market for a chip, they will usually cost around $250 retail.

i did the interior component paint job. It was a reasonably difficult task, but only because i went through the effort to make it look nice. It cost about 16 dollars, because i used Duplicolor Engine Enamel paint. It's a bit stronger and won't peel if the car gets an obscene temperature in the summer.

www.cardomain.com/id/wolly2kone has a few pictures of my completed results.
