Exclamation Don't use this on plastic?

Was just looking at the Chevy Sonic forums this morning just for the heck of it and came across this post. Just thought I'd share in case someone uses it on thier Focus.

on a positive note, that stuff might be useful as a stripper when painting plastic parts. looks like it removed the color.

Oh, man... I feel for him.

I don't use Turtle Wax any more. Used their "Upholstery Cleaner", left a larger stain than it took out.

From their directions:
"Test first on a small, inconspicuous area. If the surface becomes dull or cloudy, do not use"

Interesting that the solution to his problem... was another Turtle Wax product. Like someone there said, it's almost like they discovered how much damage the product could do, and came up with another product to sell to repair the damage the first thing did.

It may be time-consuming but I spend a few minutes to clean the bugs off my car when I get home, before they've had hours/days/weeks to bake into the paint.

He was not even using it for its intended purpose. He can't blame anyone but himself.

^ Exactly! Hope it's a lesson learned. I always am iffy about using new products on my car and read the label about 69 times before I apply to paint, leather, or plastic on my car.

Yup, blame Turtle Wax for your idiocy.
Bugs = sticker residue. Sounds logical.

As for his "repair" I'm not certain if that product will do the same thing that forever black would have done. Forever Black is quite literally a black dye that permanently redye's trim. It won't wash off. I'm not certain about the TW product...
