Ford Fiesta Doesn't Like Gas

So I am prepping this Fiesta for delivery and I notice it has no gas in the car so I say "Hey I'll drive it to the gas station and put some gas into it" so I get the gas station and start pumping gas in it and I would say around .75 gallon mark it stops, I figure air bubble or something so I wait a bit, and start pumping gas in it again.

And it still doesn't accept gas. I took it to two different local gas stations trying to fill it up each time the situation is the same.

Anyone else run into this problem before?

DO you suppose the tank is empty, or the gauge isn't working?

I've noticed it on an '05 F-150 and '10 Explorer, and usually I have to hold the nozzle at an angle for it to work without stopping.

Probably a dumb question, but have you tried this?

I honestly don't know, I just got the car shipped in. It's at the service center getting looked at.

Yes I tried it a few different ways.

My 2012 is harder to fill than any other car i have owned.
I do not consider it a big deal, but it is touchy about just pulling the handle all the way on half of the pumps i go to. And one pump in particular is just impossible to use without just barely squeezing the handle the minimum.
The pump nozzle shutoff, and some fuel splashing inside the nozzle seem to be why.

Well, turns out it's a good thing we sent it into service. The fuel issue was only the starting point.

The error screen light up like a Christmas tree according to our service guy. Car will be in the shop for awhile and there's a chance we may just call it a lemon.

Customer was switched to a different vehicle.

My 05 Mustang GT only fills properly with the gas pump handle completely upside down. I get some interesting looks, but it works. Same issues as others - it clicks off when nowhere near full, multiple times, as well as splashing fuel back at times (small amount).

My brother-in-law had to do that with his 97 F-150... thats only becasue the filer neck was rotted away on the bottom and he needed to ""jump the gap". I fixed that one quickly for him...

I feel like sometimes this is more of a fault of the pumps and not the vehicle.
