So I was cleaning my car and wondering...

I know when I go and have my car cleaned professionally it always smells so good on the inside, but it only lasts for a week or two.

I don't know what the shop used but it was some kind of spray deodorizer is there anyway I can pick something like that up at a store? I know wal-mart doesn't sell a spray on deodorizer that's good....

So I was wondering what do you guys use? I'm open to trying a bunch of new things. The little trees are okay, I'm just looking for something I can spray around with and see how it goes.

:)

when im at work (im an auto detailer) i use permascent. you can order it online but if you wanna use something that you can buy locally i suggest picking up a can of ozium, they come in many scents. get some really good duct tape and as quick as possible tape the button down and set the can in a cup holder and shut all the doors to fog the car. then wait an hour and air out....the scent stays for weeks. or you can pick up scented oil and sprinkle a little under the seats or in the mats...this works well too. or you can fog the car with some axe spray

I just use the little trees... They smell ok for a week or two, depending on the scent. There's a blackberry clove one or something like that that smells pretty good.

Currently, though, I have a used intake manifold and PCV valve assembly in a box in my backseat, and a bunch of camping gear that smells like campfire in the trunk, so the car smells like oil and manliness. WAY better than those little trees. Its like walking into an autoshop... in the woods :)

I usually use the little trees too.
But I do like spraying Febreze on the seats and carpet.

I use those airs scented clips that go on your air vents. They last about a week or two and when you turn the air on you get a good whiff of some smell goods.

Haha

I will spray some axe stuff into my vents and the headliner around the drivers and passenger seats. The scent seems to last longer when it's in the fabric. I used to be a detailer and those are some old tricks I learned. You can also try spraying on the back of the seats (where there is no contact with clothing) and maybe hide some of those trees or dryer sheets under the seats.

Absolutely hate artificial smells in my car - or my house. Never allowed my girls to burn insense in the house.

As to the car, only smell I like is the 'new car smell' Hard to duplicate it though. Also, back in the 60's GM's smelled different from Fords, which smelled different from Chryslers, etc.
