Question Focus 1.6 Titanium 2011 - with Mondeo dash & instruction book????

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, and new to Ford Focus.

I collected my Ford Focus 1.6 Titanium (61 plate) today and I love it, but there are a couple of things which seem wierd to me.

First, when I search the web for my exact model, the dashboards all look completely different to mine - I cannot find any photo of any Ford Focus with the same dashboard layout as mine. Which makes me feel uneasy.

Second, the instruction manual which came with my Focus is that of a Ford Mondeo. It says "Ford Mondeo Owners Handbook" on the front.

A quick Google search shows up this image of a Mondeo Zetec 2007 model dash:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuart166axe/6488628993/

...Which is the EXACT same layout as my Focus 2011 dash!

And yes, I have definitely got a Focus. Trust me on that.

WTF??? Is it normal for a Focus to have the Mondeo dashboard and/or user manual??? Am I missing something?

Please can somebody un-confuse me... thanks!

Upload photos to an image hosting site like photobucket. Then copy the img code from there to here

Right, I've got the pics online - thank you bringler for the tip.

My Focus 1.6 titanium:

For comparison; some random Mondeo 2007 zetec:

Thought about it overnight. I reckon the dealer simply gave me the wrong instruction book by mistake. I'll phone them today. Still mystified about the dash, though.

Well the handbook is most likely wrong

But the dash isn't exactly the same.. the Mondeo speedo goes up to 160 and your Focus does 150 lol

I would have hoped a 2011 car would have a better (or significantly different) dash than a 2007 car... :-? Can't work out why it's so similar!

This is common with all car manufacturers, design language commonality within a brand is what the brand is.

I am not sure why you find this odd.
