New SES owner from SE PA

Hey guys,

New to the site and figured I'd introduce myself and all.

Just got a 2010 Silver Focus SES last week, my 2nd car and first Focus. To make the story short, my first car was a 97 Taurus which was totaled the beginning of this month. Came out to find an accident in the front of my house and my car tossed up into a pole in the grass. Ended up choosing the Focus and through researching came upon this site.

I am completely new to car modding and the like, but am excited to learn all about it and make upgrading my new car into a hobby like many of you. I've been lurking for the past few days but finally decided to join and dive right into the fun.

I already have a bunch of cosmetic upgrades in mind (thanks to finding TFB Designs through this site) and seeing some of your cars which sparked some ideas in my mind.
-Decals, Emblem covers etc
-Window tint, nightshade for the tails
-Hood scoop (maybe), wind deflector for moonroof
-Red LED light kit for the trunk (I believe there is someone here that could help me with that? ;) )
-fun with Plastidip lol

I'd also like to get it lowered but am iffy about the repercussions with my warranty??

Eventually (more like ASAP) I would like to throw a couple performance mods as well:
-CAI
-Exhaust
-(maybe) Tune after the other 2
-Suggestions for more?

Also would be a little worried with those and the warranty as well. I've researched it quite a bit but everything still seems a little ambiguous as to whether or not it would be a problem realistically.

Thanks for the time guys and look forward to getting to know you and your cars more!

For your concerns on warranties, read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975. It pretty much says they have to honor warranty claims unless the aftermarket part directly caused the problem.

A great start (imo) would be suspension work, and then the CAI and exhaust for a little more pep. Suspension/tires will have immediate effect on how fun your car is to drive.

matz awesome car man! I'm definitely gonna pic up that engine cover and I think you have the same CAI I as looking at too. How much did the suspension kit run you?

I read up on that a little bit and was happy with what I saw...still make me a little nervous though just because my history of bad luck hahaha basically though if everything is installed correctly I should have no problems right?

and I definitely want to lower it, just looking at it I can see it'll look a lot better a couple inches lower, and I like feeling closer to the ground when I'm driving.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow on my day off, plan on messing around with some plastidip too so I can see what some things look like before I go permanent with them.
