A FB Tech group

I looked & did not see one. I am sure there may be one. But I know a lot of car club groups. Plus people spend more time on FB than on a forum. SO why not make it easy for a person to get a possible faster reply on a tech issue. I been at the Focus game since Sep 2004 & others have been at is since 2010 with twice the knowledge I have. So why not have a place we car share & learn.

Add yourself or your frnds.. Thanks

Ya, because Focus Fanatics isn't exactly this ...

I'm sorry but if you feel that the forum isn't quick enough, maybe you should do something to help the forum. Things only work properly with involvement and participation from all. Years past this worked as it should, people who'd been helped would pay-it-forward by learning and helping others. In the current, it seems more the average that people will just post, get help and leave. For myself, this dentures me from helping. I like teaching just as much as I like helping.
Along with that, everything you find on the internet will be free help. Which obviously is taking money out of a hard working American's pocket. Very few of us have professional training or even work in the automotive community; which also means any information or advice we provide needs to be taken with a grain of salt. This isn't understood enough by enough people. In other words, what someone advises you do to fix your car is only based on previous experience and may not be a faultless fix. It would seem that some have become frustrated because of this, run into new problems from an improper DIY 'fix' and such.
DIY repair in general takes many liberties and assumptions. People just need to get it through their heads that if they don't know, don't understand or don't have the proper tools, that they should take it to a certified/reliable mechanic for any/all repairs. Reading and looking at pictures is in now way, shape, form the whole story (compare it to book smart and street smart). They are simply meant to be rough guides and a way to remember how things go back together.

The chip on my shoulder is people who want to detract from the member base of this forum. With out the member base we wouldn't have a forum or we would and it would be comprised of too much off-topic nonsense,,, and I wouldn't stick around for that.

Well I know a lot of people that are not even members on here but on groups on FB. Ask so many questions on what to do or buy. We tell them to join here. they still have not. so open the group. if you not want to join to help others its all good. So far it is up to 30people. it may get more it may not. plus cells have a app for FB that people use when out & not at home on a pc. So more help when on a cell. a pain to get to the site. Thanks for ur LONG reply. Good point made. Every One Has An Opinion

I dont see a point either.. There is a buy/sell/trade FF group on facebook too, not only is it unorganized and confusing, its all the same stuff that gets posted here..

I think that this community has everything a focus enthusiast could want, i see no reason for others to pop around it..

I will probably check it out but I do agree tht some people on fb aren't a part of ff or fj. They need quick answers and maybe they don't have time to wait to be a member of the forums

To add to my opinion,

http://www.facebook.com/pages/FocusF...07854162573407

Tom made a FB page specifically to point people towards his site. I don't doubt that if you'd approach him with a request for a FB tech section that he'd consider it.
I know if I where him I wouldn't like one of my members using my site to draw people away from it. But if someone would come to me directly and ask I'd have a better mood about it.

What's more, it's far far far easier to find help when there is more possible help available; as in a site of a few tens of thousands vs a handful. Now I would love to see you create something worthwhile and very helpful and timely, but in this case all your eggs (so to speak) in one basket is the best option.

... and being I'm typing again,
What exactly is it that makes posting on FF such a hassle vs FB?

I've logged in and posted from my phone before and browsed FB (though I don't have a FB account) and I honestly can't see why one would be easier than the other. In both cases I'm still viewing tiny pictures and typing on a tiny keyboard. I don't find anything on a phone to be productive or worthwhile.
