Model Difference?

So while not trying to sound to stupid I have to ask..... What in the heck is the difference between my 07 SE and an SE ZX4? ive looked at several others. Some are sticks, some are Auto's like mine some with same interior as mine, wheels etc. What gives?

jp gave good info but if you want more, somewhere on FF there is a web page that has all the models, what year they were made, etc. I don't have it here and don't have time to search because I am on break at work, but a search should turn it up.

For 2007, Ford dropped the ZX designations. Really didnt make sense anymore, since Z meant Zetec, and they had S, SE, and SES badging too. Also, the early 2000's sedan sold fine without the ZX4 tags. Was cumbersome to say 'Focus ZX5 SES', so cut out the extra letters.

Originally, ZX3 was meant to replace the Escort ZX2 as a sporty compact, well equipped. ''Zetec Gen X 3 door''. By '07, 'ZX' was redundant.
