A controversial Statement

Buy American.... Buy Japanese cars

Read the article before posting. I'm posting because I found this article interesting.
Remember the major Japanese manufacturers are Global companies which anyone in the world can own a part of. So no, the money goes back to Japan nonsense. Also realize that the more we buy the more they invest here, with all economic factors staying relatively the same of course.

It shouldnt be controversial, supporting American workers is good (says the guy that bought a Chihuahuan car...)

I personally care more about the final product and cost to me than who or where it was made. Quality goods will always take precedence over origin

Why not buy German? The new Passat is made in Chattanooga, but the discount is more evident on the gas engines than on the diesels since both gas engines are made closer than Germany- or Poland, wherever the diesel is made. BMW makes a lot of parts here, and some vehicles IIRC.

All X3 and X6's are made in South Carolina. I believe some other models for the US domestic market are made there as well, but not sure which or how much of them

We make several interior trim parts for the X3's and X6's that get sent down there...I probably sound like a broken record to anyone that's heard me say this before, but at least 40% of our business is with "foreign" auto manufacturers and we are a privately owned local Michigan based company. That tsunami that hit Japan? Wiped out a bunch of our sales on parts for Honda vehicles for several months.
