Cool Upgraded to Focus SEL, guess I have to change my forum ID...

Yep, I stayed in my Fiesta SFE for about 8 months and put in just under 20K miles. Got some great gas mileage, saw 40+mpg quite a few times. But like I told the dealers, my wife just wouldn't go anywhere in a small car, we knew that when she backed out of the Focus trade for her 2007 Edge. Well this little White Platinum Focus SEL is loaded, and is real comfortable. Took a bit of a 'bath' on the Fiesta trade-in, so those cars are plummeting for all of you to know. But this 5-Door SEL is really a whole BIG upgrade slick package. I may not even get it tinted right away, it looks so good. Made in the USA, it's hard to believe, really. I'm happy, got all of 30 or 40 miles on her so far. It really is what I wanted but it wasn't released when I picked up the Fiesta, got it now though, YIPPEE.... :)

Yep, SEL, someone give me a quick primer in how to upload pics from my BB and I will shoot one towards the garage, where my 2007 C-14 is sitting so you know it's a real pic. It's real enough to me. Just around town since tuesday, but tomorrow will be the first road trip. It's a great ride so far. I basically bought out of the Fiesta with 2K down and my payments went up 40 a month.

Woulda coulda shoulda......

Congrats on your new Focus.

Don't know why you took a bit of bath on the trade-in of the Fiesta. Dealers should be paying top dollar (close to full wholesale blue book, I would think) for a late-model high-MPG like that. My guess is, if you check on their used lot, they've got an asking price on it that's only slightly lower than the new ones they're selling.

Nope, not around here, no short supply on the Fiestas any more and all you get is wholesale and they pulled a comparable sales numbers locally that showed they're only worth 15K or even less, and none of those had 20K miles on it like mine did in 8 months. Dealer makes their money, I'm ok about that, these guys here get me in cars when lots of credit guys can't manage even that.

It sucks, but as I'm sure you figured before going in with it, that's what happens when you trade in a brand new car so soon, and with such miles in that short a time. I've only seen one or two used Fiestas around here though and they weren't asking a whole lot less than brand new price for them. But again, as you said, miles.

Anyway, great choice. I love the 2012 in white. But does it really feel THAT much bigger to the wife? Lol oh well, what women want, we give them sooner or later!

The kids definitely don't look so cramped in the back seat as they were in the Fiesta. She likes the high-end dash and controls too, we will see after we take a trip somewhere. It is almost exactly 20 dollars more per tank to go the same 300 miles in her EDGE, she understands that too, and she also thought I looked pretty "handsome" in the Focus this week, but it's my primary car. She wants a new EDGE some day, but I'm waiting for a more fuel efficient powerplant than the lousy gas-guzzling 6 cylinder Ford has. Yeah, I love the tri-white, it was my first choice back last spring. I already know for years and years that CARS are transportation and really lousy investments. Now if I had a few of those old air-cooled VWs I used to pick up for a few hundred bucks, I'd be a richer man today.
Who knew?
