Stock crew(visible & audible wise) how often do you get pulled over?

Here, the cops love to pull me over just for the hell of pulling over.

I think I've been pulled over 6-7 times over the past 4 years and I haven't got a ticket. All stock, no bumper stickers, no tint.

What's your story?

You must fit some 'profile' they have.
(and cops use it, they just SAY they do not.)
(((It is like "guilty of being Black while driving".)))
Also the cops may now know you?
Especially if a small town.
I was pulled over once for nothing, I lived in a 'bad' neighborhood, and was cutting zigzagthrough a few less busy streets a block from home and got the red and blue. Since we then were like fifty feet from my home address. i waited in my car. They never even came up to the door, the just turned off the red and blue flashers and drove off.

Some cars IMo are cop magnets, or certain cops have a thing for certain cars..
I would NEVER have purchased a bright Yellow car if I wanted to speed a lot.
My old car i drive it fast most of the time, and only stated slowing down the past few years...

I got stuck in the snow in my Chevy Celebrity because someone in an SUV felt it necessary to let me end up in the snow instead of them to breeze right through it since it was only plowed wide enough for a car and a half. It was 500 ft from where i lived, so I walked home, my friend stayed in the car. I drive back up, pulled the car out with my mom's Dakota and then a cop drove up turned his lights on and started checking our IDs and telling me i was f'ing around and I shouldnt have been and I need to learn how to drive etc. Didnt give me a ticket but that really pissed me off. He neglected to stop and yell at the person in front of my house who was also stuck in the snow. Just me.

I'm pretty sure your stock focus is not the reason you are being pulled over. The time of day, where you are, who you are, and anything else going on in the area will all be factors. Are you getting any sort of warnings? Like a light out, speeding, swerving?

No written warning. Cop demanded to know if the car was mine, and claims I got stopped, because I didn't have my turn signal long enough before I turned.

6-7 times in 4 years and you're bitching about it?

LMAO

There was a time I'd get pulled over once a week and a ticket every couple months, for about 3 years.

You should just be happy that your tax dollars are working to try and keep the peace. PO's are not mind-readers and because of this they must stop you from time to time to ensure civility is upheld.

What's next, we should all let the cops search are cars when asked, for the sake of public safety? Maybe they should do random checks on every house to make sure there's nothing nefarious going on...

I'd much rather they stop harassing the average person and actually be a presence in the neighborhoods...you know, actually try and deter crime, instead of fishing for crooks.

How do you determine what a 'crook' or 'crime' is?

Not saying everyone who drives is a serial killer, but there are a good many vehicle stops that result in the arrest of serious criminals.

and any PO can search my car any time they wish. I've nothing to hide and I do plan enough ahead in my travel time to account for the unexpected.

You wait for them to commit a crime. You can't just go pulling everyone over and checking them out to make sure they're not a criminal. At least not yet, we're still in a somewhat free country...and quite frankly I'd like to keep it that way for a while.

And like I said, if it's OK to pull people over who did nothing wrong just to 'check them out' then it's eventually going to be OK for your home to be searched...because "if you haven't got anything to hide you don't have to worry".

It's a very dangerous mentality.

Police have to use discretion with every stop that they make. It's just how things are done. As mentioned before, sometimes just a random stop with unviel something bigger. Do you fit a "profile"? I doubt it. Are they targeting you? Unlikely. My theories for you getting pulled over so much are:

1) you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
2) you get stopped as one of those random stops, in which they still have to have a reason for pulling you over, even if it is something as rediculous as "not having your blinker on long enough".
3) Lastly, you are obviously doing something to catch their eye, so they pull you over to take a closer look.

My car is far from stock and I don't exactly drive "by the book", but I haven't had any trouble at all.
