rubber around headlights

The rubber is cracking and coming off around the headlights of my 2000 Focus SE. Anyone else had problems with this and how did you fix it? I was told to fix it I'd have to buy new headlights at $300/each. IS there a cheaper way of fixing this and making it look decent?

i would think u can just go to a ford dealer and go to the parts desk and ask them for the rubber.

They told me the rubber is part of the headlights and I'd have to buy new headlights.
