Crown Victoria production ended!

The last Crown Victoria was built yesterday and I think the car will be missed. These cars are rock solid and offered great service life whether you were a private citizen, taxi driver, law enforcement officer, fleet owner, etc. The last production model will go to Saudi Arabia and the workers signed the last chasis and body. Go to the crownvic.net website for more info.

Really? Wow. I wonder what they'll replace it with, if anything.

I still want to get my hands on a P71 Crown Vic. Nice cruising cars. Fast too.

I had an 03. They weren't fast.. Not bad though
Nice solid cars though. They don't make them like they used to.

The new Taurus replaced them. err the term they use is "Police Interceptor" not Taurus.. but it is a Taurus with beefier parts..

You had an '03 PI package? Really.. I test drove an '05 I think it was. It definitely had no problem getting up to 100 lol. Was about 50x faster than my Focus..

Yep; I used to autox it XD
Well yea it's faster than my Focus too but.. now that I have a 740i; this is faster than the Vic. lol

It's a cheap and fun car to have to play with and they're reliable as the fires in hell.
I loved the V8 noise and the 3.27LSD
The part where it actually is pretty fast is from 65 and you floor it there

For the law enforcement market, Ford will offer the 2012 Ford Taurus and the 2012 Ford Explorer.

As for the taxi market, they will field the Ford Transit Connect.

There is no direct replacement for the Crown Victoria at this time since Ford does not market a rear drive 4 door sedan in North America.

I will miss the car. I used to own a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS and it was a rock solid car. Even a bicycle can easily fit in the car. That is before I stupidly crased it and later on bought my 2012 Focus Titanium.

One wonders how well the Taurus will hold up as a police car compared to the basic-as-dirt Crown Vic. Are there any body-on-frame cars left?
