Arrow Trade Focus on a Ranger??

Im really torn here, I have a base Focus S 5 speed...it is nice gets good mpg...but this is the last year for the Rangers! Rangers are legendary for reliability and toughness....Ive had 2 co-workers with Rangers that lasted over 250,000 miles (Charlie's had over 400,000 miles on it!!) I miss having a truck, sold my F-150 about a year ago and bought the Focus. So any advice or experiences would be appreciated please.

2011 Ranger: I like both 4 or 6 cyl, both have pros/cons, but it must be a manual transmission and extended cab. The rebates are larger on the 6cyl.

I guess the question I would ask myself, is do I NEED a pickup. Do I have a regular need for a vehicle to haul stuff around. If yes, then by all means get the ranger. The perfect balance of utility and fuel economy. Especially the 4 cyl. If you don't really need a pickup, I'd stick with the focus. You could always pick up a low mileage used ranger later for a cheaper price.

It is one of the quickest cars on the road. AND it gets much better mpg than my Mazda RX8 that I traded in for it. Heck last night I got 24.9 mpg in the Evo!

Then trade the Focus or have 3. 2 cars will get you no where when you have to pick up a load of mulch.

^^Haha, too true. I have been exposed to a number of Rangers over My short 37 years, and have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. If I had a need for a truck, the Ranger would be top on My short list.

My vote is go for the Ranger. You already have a sedan, and one most would love to have at that. And the Ranger is solid enough to take a beating and haul most loads, while still small enough to be driven confidently by pretty much anyone.

I thought about buying a Ranger a while back, but I didn't NEED another vehicle, just a bed. So that what I built, just a bed.
