Late Delivery Woes...

Ordered a 2012 Focus in May, 3 weeks later it was built and I was told it was shipped. Got my VIN number & all seemed great. Then came the wait. The estimated 3 week delivery date came.. no car. Car stuck in Georgia for some unknown reason according to the tracking info on the computer (I have the print out). 2 weeks later, no car yet. 2 weeks later, no car yet and nobody knows where it is. How do you lose a car?

2 Months after the build date, Ford finally tracked it down. It's still in Michigan. Really?!?!?! What the heck? Delivery date now estimated at 3 weeks out (again).

This is the first time I took the trouble to order exactly what I wanted (instead of buying off the lot). NOT a very good experience so far. It wouldn't bother me if I had to wait a couple months for them to build it, but they actually misplaced my car at the shipping yard in Michigan for 2 months? Unbelievable.

I heard Ford was low on parts for the new Focus. i wonder if that haves anything to do with it. I'm sorry to hear though man, good luck with the situation

Late Delivery? Here's a "me too".

You're not alone. I ordered June 2. SEL hatchback built June 27. Got delivery date of July 18. On July 25, dealer got email "delivery delayed". No reason given. Then got email "car in transit July 29", but no delivery date given. When did it finally show up at dealer? August 25. So...2 months from build to delivery. Irritating mystery. Why did it sit in Michigan for over a month? Oh well...car is GREAT! Love it!

A quick update - Yesterday my car finally arrived and I picked it up today. It was the correct VIN, so no switcharoo...

Ford did throw in a 3yr/45,000mi service plan. So looks like nine 5k oil changes and free 30k service. Not a whole lot, but at least they offered some compensation.

Ordered mine the last week of May. That was about 15 weeks ago. They told me in late August to expect it about Oct 1st give or take. Sigh. Its not a total loss because its given me time to build up almost enough cash to buy it out right.

That's about the same time as I ordered mine. Build date estimate was June 21st and actual build date was June 28th - then they parked it in the transfer lot.

Any idea why they are saying yours is pushed out so far? Did they give you a build date?

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the day, my parents ordered a 97 Jeep. The dealer kept saying it was on it's way. 3 months later of being told it was on its way we ran into the owner. Come to find out, they completely forgot to order it. We did get a brand new loaner while waiting for the 97 to come haha.

I had my old Taurus to a shop and they lost the car ... TWICE. The first time they couldn't find it in the parking lot (but I did!). The second time ... they couldn't find the car and it wasn't on their lot.

I ordered mine in May and did not get it until August. I was TWO days away from cancelling my order and buying something else when I got the call.

Yah, I was watching. All the paperwork said N/A for the charges. Sounded like they were going to have fun trying to figure out how to create the service plan with no charges... they'd never done it before.
