ST or not?!?!

First off. Hi everyone, I'm new to the form and new to the focus world. Recently, I purchased what I thought to be a 2005 zx4 st model. It has the wing, 16 inch st rims, 2 tone interior, ST badge, etc. I got a smog check yesterday and it says "2.0" engine size on my smog certificate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't it say "2.3"? Is there a stamp I can find somewhere on the engine block to verify I have a real ST?

The VIN is the key to model. The VIN will tell you the exact build of you vehicle when new. I am new here, but someone can point you to a place you can insert the vin and get the build info.
Ford ETIS can do new cars (it is European Ford, but still pulls up new cars by VIN. i do not know if it will in fact pull up build of older ones.
Google" Ford ETIS " and go. First pick on Google Ford ETIS
On Ford ETIS look at the top line of page'with HOME VEHICLE INFORMATION etc line'Pick VEHICLE enter
VIN in box enter.
Scroll that page and click 'added' The complet stuff on you car is revealed.
YEs ETIS does older cars (at least the 2007 i entered)

what about other interior bits?

Does your car look like this? Silver on the speedo, leather with red stichting on the wheel and shift knob, manual transmission, six disc cd player, cd bezel that has a crossed hatched look to it?

I'm guessing the smog people might have been lazy and just entered in ford focus generically and most are 2.0L

You want to look at VIN positions 6&7. They will tell you if it rolled off the line as an ST. Position 8 is also helpful, since it will tell you the motor.

http://focus.noegruts.com/vin/vin.htm

That site doesn't have all the info, but if you are able to match up with a non-ST model, you'll know something was up.
