Noob and noob question about my Focus

Hey, first time posting here and I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong section - couldn't really figure out where to post this.

So, I'm a complete noob when it comes to cars and racing especially, but I'd like to change this. I have a 2009 Focus SES (I'll list VIN specs below) and I was wondering: 1. If I were to show up to a track to have some fun, will I look like an idiot? 2. Is this a good setup to invest money into? I.e. should I upgrade what I have, or just have fun with it as is and get a better model in a few years? Not looking to do anything more than have fun on the weekends at the local tracks; I live outside of Daytona Beach, so the area is covered with them.

Please, if this is a stupid question, go easy on me! I really only know the basics but want to learn as much as I can!

Thanks!

P.S. it's an auto which I do know is a bad thing when it comes to speed.

Both, if I have any auto x tracks in the area. I know a drag track is likely the place to be ridiculed by serious enthusiasts but I would only be there looking to race other cars in the same class as the Focus - I.e. Civics. lol I know enough to realize showing up acting like I can take a Vette is a great way to embarrass myself. Really, I'm just after the thrill of being able to open this car up and could careless about winning - that's something for down the road once I've built up knowledge and a decent car, and most importantly know what I'm doing!

At FocusFest a Focus Wagon nearly took a Vette in the 1/8th mile. Reaction time can be important. The Auto is a dog off the line, but if you get a good tune with some bolt ons, you can run a respectable race.

Setting up the car for dragging is a little different from setting up for auto cross. Figure out what your goals are before setting up and dropping a lot of money.
