Just bought a 1.8 liter turbo Diesel

Hello,

New to this forum. I am stationed in Belgium and needed a small car to offset our Caddy we had shipped over here so we bought a 2003 (ZX5 equivalent) 1.8 intercooled turbo dielsel. Love the car, small, easier to drive here, lots of torque, too bad Ford didn't sell this engine in the states!

Anyway, I have a few minor issues with itso I thought I'd get a profile and start posting.

The Caddy is doing OK but I am seriously worried about anything going wrong. I have not seen one around here and no one knows where I can get it fixed if something does go wrong.

I was never a small car guy but over here the roads are tiny and gas is expensive. I had driven a uorbo diesel focus here before so I thought it would be the perfect 2nd car. It's a real shame they don't have it in the states, I would have bought one in a heartbeat. It's relatively quick and gets great mileage - 44 MPG compined city/highway. And the hatchback lets me carry crap that I wouldn't want to put in the Caddy.

Are you going to bring either car back when you return to the US?

The Caddy can come back because it's US specs. The Focus can't. I wouldn't be able to register it. You can bring a Euro-spec car back with no modifications if it's 25 yrs old or older. Otherwise you have to bring it up to US specifications and it's too expensive.
