Talk me into a Focus

Ha! Well I've been on here going through exactly what I want in a Focus- finally settling on the SEL - but the problem is- can't find it anywhere in my area. All dealers are telling me I would need to order it which would take 6 weeks or more.

I do need a car sooner than that.

I like the Focus- but not sure I can wait that long. My other option is go with a Prius which I can get now although they are still up there in price due to earthquake- about $24,000 for the base model. As opposed to $21,000 or less after the Xplan and $750 back (Although it now goes down to $500 back after July 31st)

So go ahead- talk me out of the Prius. :)

If styling means anything to you, we won't have to talk you out of the Prius because you will have already done that yourself. :)

HA! I actually like the way the Prius looks- its sort of simple inside though- but does have a sophistication to it. But I do like all the extras you get with the Focus obviously. Plus its a little more of a fun driving car than the Prius.

if you think the prius has better stying than the focus.. well.. our tastes differ. i looked at both and the prius was more like a "space shuttle" than the focus. i absolutely hated the instrument gauges in the far center of the dashboard. sorry, but after 40 years behind the wheel i'm used to looking straight up to see my speed, not ahead and to the right. way too distracting (and one would think dangerous).

orders can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks. if you can't wait that long then do what you have to do. if you can somehow stretch out that long (12 is a worst case scenario, but still possible) and like the focus better, then do it.

don't end up with buyer's remorse 2 months after you bought your vehicle, spending a few years thinking you wish you bought the other car is a long time.

Sync is the only reason to not look at any other car.

Funny part is I held out for a Focus over a then much cheaper Prius- once I saw the MFT at The Auto Show last year. Now I'm trying to avoid a car with MFT. Oops.

I still have never really toyed around with the non MFT sync- what is so great about it? Basically its just voice commands- correct?

Sync is a standalone system. It just depends if you get MyFord for the screen or MyFord Touch for the touch screen. Otherwise it just does simple text line display (like my 08 focus)

Sync is absolutely amazing for voice commands, phone, and controlling your mp3 player. Its phenomenal.

MFT just came out with a new update that should fix all the crashing issues -- so I wouldn't try to avoid it anymore :)

So you say things like "Led Zeppelin" And it plays all Zeppelin songs? I actually really like the clean look of the non MFT sync system- the smaller screen. Ut-oh falling in love with Ford again! :)
