It was either a Mini-Van or THIS...

Just picked up the new car yesterday...

2008 Audi A4 2.0t Quattro
6 Spd M/T
S-Line Package
Titanium Package
35,000 Miles
Certified Pre-Owned

With the family getting bigger and losing our 1997 Nissan Altima to some serious electrical problems about a year ago, the wife has been driving the SVT to get to work.

I have a work truck so the SVT was the wife's primary car. I only drove the SVT on the weekends with my wife and daughter to run errands and it didn't take me long to get frustrated with getting my daughter out of the back seat everytime we stopped to go somewhere.

So I have spent the last 6 months deciding on what I wanted to get and I came across this Audi A4 and never looked back. Two test drives and one over-night later and the wife and I were SOLD!

Much like the SVT, the Audi A4 Titanium Package is a rare version of the popular A4. So I guess I stuck to what I like and got another car that was more unique than any other A4.

For shiz and giggles...

I'll take some interior pictures tomorrow.. and maybe if your good I'll try and get some night shots too.

NADA including Certified Pre-Owned was $27,300

I picked it up for $22,500.
(It took me about 2 weeks to get that price and it wasn't easy.)

Dunno man. Have you looked at some of the new offerings from Chrysler? Mini vans ain't what they used to be. The new ones are pretty snazzy and almost sporty.

(btw, I'm a VW hater)

I've always been a fan of Audi's, but never thought I would ever buy one.

Yeah, I spent some time in some of the new Chrysler/Dodge Mini-Vans and they weren't too bad... see below.

To be totally honest with you, I was extremely impressed with the Chrysler Vans. I test drove a base model Grand Caravan and could have done without it... but then I got into a Chrysler Town and Country and was completely blown away.

The T&C was like a Limo inside. Lots of room, more than enough storage space, and really comfortable. I would have no problem picking up one of those..... definitely a big jump up from the Mini-vans of yesterday.

Unfortunately, when I brought the T&C home I didn't even get it into Park before my wife came out and was already shaking her head.

She will be driving it 90% of the time, so it was something that she would have to like. I also wanted to get something that I could hop in and take out for a drive.

I spent a good 2-3 weeks trying to convince her that it was a great vehicle to have but she would not budge on the fact that it was a Mini-Van... so as the story goes "Happy Wife = Happy Life" (or Vagina-Whipped, whichever you prefer)

I don't regret my purchase of the Audi by any means, but I did enjoy driving around the T&C for a few days.

Congrats! At that price it's a steal. Although this is the first time I've ever seen anyone cross-shop an Audi with a minivan. Gotta admit the choice was pretty easy though... :-P

Although it's a good thing you picked up an A4 with the proven 2.0T. I'd warn against getting any bi-turbo models. Yeah they're awesome... until one (or both) turbochargers go out and you're lugging a 3700+ lb car with 2.0L in limp mode. That uberfast luxury car effectively becomes a plush Geo Metro.

Had a coworker with an older S4 that did just that (admittedly it was in an accident before). Maintenance fees on his was big $$$. There's a good reason why some S4's are questionably cheap.

Ok, this started out pretty typically. Family is getting bigger, Man and his wife are going to have an argument about getting a minivan. But in this case the man arguing for getting a minivan over an Audi??? Did I just step into bizarro world?
