2007 Focus DRL and drive-in movie

Is there any way to disable the daytime running lights on the 2007 ford focus so i can run my car occasionally during the movie?
I tried setting the hand brake and starting the car but that didnt work for me.

Well it's mandated in Canada from what I've read online

What I would do is either find the wire for it and wire in a switch to turn it off or just unplug the light when at the theater
