Taller drivers

Hey,

I'm in the market for my first car soon and I really love the new Focus. Easily the best looking compact on the market today. I got to sit in one briefly but haven't test driven one yet or anything.

I was wondering if there were any taller drivers of a 2012 here on these forums....if so, how is the car working for you?? I'm 6'3" and legroom/etc. is very important to me, and I'd like to know if the Focus is a good option for someone with long legs. Figured that this would be the best place to ask this question! :D

Thanks!

6' 3" i fit fine. even my one friend who is 6' 5" could sit in the back seat comfortably.

i have a 1st gen though. you might want to have this moved to the 2012 section

I'm 6ft even and I feel fine as far as leg room. The biggest problem i have is the steering wheel always feels just a few inches too far away. I can' fix this by sliding the seat forward, but that encroaches more on my legroom. I had this same issue in my Toyota Tacoma, so the issue may just be me...and no, I dont have the arms of a velociraptor ;)

I am 6'-3" and find the Focus to be very accomodating and comfortable. I find that if I position the drivers seat all the way back and all the way down, it is actually a little too far for me to comfortably reach the pedals. Still - you probably want to drive one for yourself to see if you can find a comfortable seating/driving position since everyone has different preferences. I cannot say the rear seat is very accomodating behind tall drivers though... at least not for anyone taller than 5'-4" or so.

I have the same EXACT problem. I noticed this with my car too, and unfortunately didn't have the chance to fully adjust it before I bought the car to discover this. It's okay though, it's just a slight discomfort. I just wish manufacturers would give us LONGER steering columns to work with. People with longer legs are at a slight disadvantage here.
