He said the clutch needs sme fixing and I will take it to my mechanic from ford to take a look at it its a black svt on all black umm things I should consider or take a look at.

Its a 2003 2Door it has a salvage title 125k miles because rear ended. He says tahat when he I s past 3k rpm everything works fine but when he is stopping he car seems like its loosing power , I talked to him he said that he could leave it for 500 less so I can fix it or what not and I am planning to keep it and idk to me doesn't seem so bad since all I'm putingdown is 1000 and paying him 500 for 3 months but I need to know what people say or think I have a mchanic that will fx me anything for realy cheap at aford dealer since imy parents know him at a personal level ,
My focus was salvage transmission was bad paid 600 bucks to get it fixed and still have warrenty till this day. [Came with 2 year warrenty]. Fixed my buddys focus head gaskets zetec fo 300 dollars.
And I trust him so what do guys think the problem might be and is it worth it.

Sory if I'm not making sense lol at a graduation.

need more info than when its goes past 3k rpm everything is fine and when it stops it loses power. More info, how does it act when you are slowing?

It acts like it wants to lose power or shut down but he engine sounds good and strong though.

I would not shotgun trouble shoot anything,

Take it to a trusted mechanic and get a good PPI.. Could be a number of things causing the car to run like that..

true, but you could always start with the basics. spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, air filter. then maybe and its a big maybe the coil pack.

i would start with those things, most people replace all that when the get a 'new to them' used car.

If you have cash in hand... id take it. You basically could troubleshoot it to your hearts content, then if you still cant figure it out, part it out and at least break even!
