Anyone have any thoughts on this 2012 Beetle Turbo?

Looks like a Porsche Hatchback to me. Can't forget the competition! Wonder if Ford will release a hot hatch version of the Fiesta to compete?

It's Interesting... Certainly more masculine than the last "new" beetle.

The pre-order plan has me more vexed. It seems that they're lining up the lambs for slaughter at the local dealership. The pre-order they're pimping doesn't guarantee you any set price for the car or even that your local dealer has to sell you the car. You're on your own to negotiate out a deal with the local dealer on the car, and dealer knows they've got someone who really wants this limited edition car.

Reportedly, they're going to do the same thing for the Golf R also.

Looks good, but the front still has a happy go lucky grin.

Needs moar rear engine.

Definitely an improvement...the turbo lettering down the side is a bit much. Wonder if we'll get the RSI stateside this time...probably not.

It looks like one of the fat chicks who usually drives a Beetle sat on the roof and flattened it.

I also should amend my previous post... not all fat chicks drive Beetles. One of my cousins has a girlfriend (now fiancee) who drove a Turbo Beetle and she is hot. Except the car broke and is now gone because it is, after all, a VW.

I think this is an attempt to make the car less cutesy and more appealing to both sexes, but it doesn't really work for me, at least not from what I've seen so far.

For the money I would much rather have a GTI, the beetle, even if the styling is less feminine still has the same connotations.
