Test drove an MS3 and...

I dunno... I think I'm in love...

I honestly feel like a married man that just cheated on his wife of 20yrs...

I'm getting a settlement check from my lawyers from a car accident that happened about a year and a half or so ago and while I was dead set on just buying the FSwerks kit for my ST... after driving the 2011 MS3 I think I'm in love...

Not sure if I should go to counseling for this or what but I feel like an a-hole.

Tell me... Boost the ST or say F' it and get the MS3????

BTW, the MS3 is black on Black... (FTMFW)

ouch thats tough. i think id go with the MS3. aftermarket wise the Mazda is the better choice perhaps. then again which its time to change spark plugs, on the MS3 you gotta remove that reDONKulous intercooler whereas on the Focus the coils/plugs are right there with nothing covering them up. lol man thats a tough choice.

I know you're waiting for someone to ask why the MS3 owner says not to get the MS3... so, yeah... why?

Are certain aspects of the newer model not worth it? All I know is I can NOT get past the funky 'big smile' front of the new Mazda cars.

Do what makes you most happy. Consider everything- including the payment, one thing that's good about the MS3 option is that you'll likely get more use out of it than you would out of a boosted Focus. For one, it's brand new, and second it has forged pistons/rods/crank. Boosting an already old (over 50k) Focus with cast pistons, rods, and crank is trick, but not the same. That's not to say bad, just not the same. You'd have to invest about $6k just in parts to get the bottom end of the MS3.

Not to say that I wouldn't be thinking, and I have been. There is a way to build a better turbo than what comes in the MS3: you won't get into it cheap, and it won't be "bolt-on". That being said- if you put the kind of money into a Focus that you'd end up putting into the MS3- just for the showroom price difference- you'd have one slick Focus with a wide-body kit, fat tires, and phat engine to go with the look. Banks don't finance that sort of stuff though. Such it is.
