Import an RS for track days???

I know everyone here would love to have a mk1 or mk2 Focus RS, but it would be way to expensive to make road legal. So I was wondering if anyone has ever thought of purchasing one and importing the car for racing only because then I believe you wouldn't have to worry about emissions or being road legal?

Anyone have any input? is it a good idea? bad idea? cost to much? or do you think it is do-able?

First off that thread is from 2004 and barely has 3 pages to it, so don't tell me to search when all I am trying to do is start a friendly chat.
Second I am just trying find common ground with those of us who really want an RS focus. I believe that Importing one and registering it as track use only to be the only realistic way to get one here in the US.

So are there racing enthusiasts out there who would want an RS for weekend racing/track events????

1. Has the information changed from 2004?
2. Maybe there's barely 4 pages because that's all there was to say?
3. That is one of several dozen threads on the topic. I wasn't going to waste my time searching when you wouldn't.

Answer; yes there are racing enthusiasts that would love an RS for trackdays; they're all around you!

and IMO you can build a NASA spec focus racer for much cheaper than an RS and get to actually race it! not just time trial laps...
