Invoice + 3% - Factory Incentives + Factory Ordered = Acceptable?

I'm just wondering...if i go by the car cost canada reported wholesale/invoice cost, and i wanted 3% over that as the cost of my car & want to factory order it, is that an acceptable amount considering the car is a new release? it's not like i'm taking a car off of their lot that's in demand where they could sell it for more to someone else, right?

it's the same site, i think...just the canadian version. so were you able to get it below invoice due to a manufacturer rebate(s)? i.e. when you add those rebates back in is it about 3% over invoice?

or did you just go in and ask to pay $300 less than invoice?

The salesperson offered $300 below invoice without any rebates... so I get $300 below invoice in addition to any applicable rebates ($750 private cash, $500 financing rebate).

No negotiation needed.. since I used that website he offered that. I was pleasantly shocked. He had me work with another salesman b/c he wasn't in the day I went and they were shocked I got such a good deal but they honored it without any problem.

I think since that website introduces competition by giving your info to more than one dealer they wanted me to choose them without hesitation. They're still making money off the holdback.

Normally CarCostCanada refers you to a local dealership which will honor the invoice price listed. I was quoted $500 over invoice from the dealership, but already had a better deal. I would imagine that using this service + the current $1000 promotion would make for a great deal!

My report said there weren't any local dealers, unfortunately. :(

Find an amount that you're comfortable with and can afford and email ALL dealers with an acceptable radius. Initially, just deal with their internet departments. It will be easier and faster, and you will more likely find a deal you find satisfactory. Just my thoughts...remember no matter what you read here, a deal your happy with IS still a deal.

Also, when you factory order, you are still taking from their monthly allocation. Each dealer is allowed to order a particular number of each model per month. However, don't let that be a bargaining chip for them (some dealers do use that excuse), since most people are buying off the lot or having dealers locate cars for them. Two of my local dealers had no more allocation left, and I just found one that did, that's all.

BTW, I would start with a little less than your offering (also make sure it includes all fees, as they will try to sneak those in)...Good luck!

I have a question when you say they offered $500 over invoice price. Did you still have admin fees on top of that or was your price going to be $500 over plus tax walk out he door deal done.
