Extended Warranty

Hey All,

What is the absolute longest warranty you can get for a Ford product? I have a 2012 Focus on order, and if I go through with the purchase, I will want to get the best (i.e. longest) warranty possible. I've read of at least 7 years, 125,000 miles being available. I'd want zero deductible, if possible. Does either Ford, or an equally reputable aftermarket insurance outfit, have a better warranty available? What would you consider to be a reasonable price for such a warranty?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Why specifically the longest? I purchased the 6 or 7 year (I forget) 100k mi extended from GE Warranty when buying the car at the dealer, next time if I get it though ill opt for the Ford ESP rather than a aftermarket though. Looks to be easier to deal with through the manufacturer rather than another company. But then again I haven't used it yet and almost halfway through it at 44000mi

I wouldnt bother buying an extended warranty right now anyway. You can get them all the way up to the last day of your bumper to bumper. So just wait...no sense in throwing in another couple of thousand dollars.

I can tell you as a service advisor at a Ford dealership that the Extended Service Plans do pay off. I have had countless customers that have used their plans and are very happy they had it. Of course it is all up to the people buying the car but having to tell a customer that they are out of warranty sucks. I much prefer telling them their ESP will cover the repair and all they owe is a $100 deductible.
