Question Information request for MyKey +PushStart

Hey all,

As you see in the title, this post is in regards to Mykey and Pushstart

Ive got a couple questions which if someone could answer for me, that would be great.

1. How close do I have to be to car for it to recognize the key?

2. When I am in the car, the key is in my pocket, car started, and I have to run inside to grab something quick.
- If I leave the car running and do not lock the doors... will the car auto lock?
- If someone tries getting in the car without the key.. what will happen?

Thats it so far.

Thanks in advance!

Its fairly close proximity, I'm almost positive the car will turn off if you try to run inside when it is running. The car will also lock if you get outside of its range.

When all else fails, refer to the owners manual:

Absence of the intelligent access key: Once the vehicle has started,
the vehicle will remain running until being turned off by the
START/STOP button, even if the IA key is no longer found in the vehicle.
Whenever a door is opened and then closed while the vehicle is running,
the system will search for an IA key inside the vehicle and the
multifunction display will display KEY OUTSIDE CAR if the IA key is no
longer present. This message is a reminder that someone else in the
vehicle may have taken the IA key when exiting the vehicle. If the IA key
is no longer present in the vehicle, you will not be able to re-start your
vehicle outside of the Fast Restart time (see Fast Restart Feature
above). It is important to be aware of where your IA key is located in the
vehicle, to avoid becoming stranded without an IA key.

Activating intelligent access at the doors: If your IA key is within
3 feet (1 meter) of the doors you can activate your intelligent access
system by touching the inside of any exterior door handle. The door(s)
will automatically unlock and the door can be opened.
To lock the doors, press the lock area (black spot) on either front door
handle.
Activating intelligent access at the liftgate: If your IA key is within
3 feet (1 meter) of the liftgate, you can activate your intelligent access
system by pressing the exterior liftgate release button, hidden under the
trim above the license plate. The liftgate will release and open.

I remember watching an episode of Top Gear where Clarkson moved Hammond's Charger out to the middle of the road. He was able to do it because Hammond was sitting in the restaurant, just on the other side of the wall from his car. Clarkson was able to drive the car out to the road, about 30 feet from Hammond before the car shut off.
Different car, but I would imagine the technology would be similar.

I can vouch for this. I left my car running and didn't lock the doors. My brother took the car for a joyride around the block. He said the screen warned him, but he had no problems driving it (It didn't automatically turn off or anything).

Guess I'll be locking my doors while I'm warming my car up in the winter!

it's the exact same as if you have your car running with the keys in the ignition and the door unlocked (which i always do...as dumb as it is)...if you currently do that you should have no problem with the above situation.
