Talking Would You Buy A Car With A Flashy Engine?

hey guys, im thinking of selling my focus, its completely stock. except for a E3 spark plugs, obx wires and a cold air intake. so i always wondered if people are more likely to buy a car that has engine upgrades or doesnt. im thinking if i should take it off or leave it like this. so just tell me if u would buy a car with a flashy motor or not? and wat is ur age?

Edit: hey guys i just switched back to a regular K&N filter, and man the car feels so much better at higher rpms. before with a $50 CAI from ebay it used to choke at higher rpms. At final note i just want to say Dont go cheap on the performance.

i would rather buy a stock car - sometimes i dont mind a few small mods

yours is a 4 door someone older im sure will want the car
over some younger person, and someone older might not want stuff like that
i would say take the parts off and sell them you
will get more that way

mods usually mean the car was driven hard, but on the other hand means there is an increased chance the guy knowns a good amount about cars and it was well maintained and taken car of.

19 is my age my comment is: I wouldn't buy a car with a ton of mods because I wouldn't know if the were put in the right way, but stuff like spark plugs, a cai (pretty much anything I could see and make sure wasn't all jacked up[yes i know you can't see sparks]) wouldn't deter me from buying a car. AND no I do not think your engine bay is too flashy I think there is enough to make somebody go "hey thats cool, let's get this one".

I'm 32 and I would say this.

First as mentioned above, your car is a 4 door, so most likely isn't going to be looked at by younger kids.
My first thoughts when seeing this would be that the car was driven harder than normal, so I would probably be turned off right away. However, taking off the cold air intake and just leaving the spark plugs and wires is nothing (in fact, I would even call it a nice touch), and doesn't look flashy.

I would at the very least remove the cold air intake, but would say to also remove the wires as your target market isn't interested in that.

^^ well like I said I'm 19 and own two 4 door cars, and a few of the people I work with 18-26 drive 4 door cars. So in all actuality 4 door or 2 door isn’t a deciding factor. I mean if somebody needs a car they will buy it, 4 door or 2 cai, ram or stock.

I agree with all, if you still have the stock airbox, throw it back in.

I mentioned target market. Just because a few people you know who are young means that everyone of that age will be looking for a 4 door. Those are the exceptions. I agree that people will buy a car if they need one, 4 door or 2 door, but usually people who look at a 4 door are looking for something a little more on the sensible side. Those type of people usually don't care about the mods.

If you are trying to sell the car, you need to make it appealing to the largest group of prospective buyers.
